Practices Bethan practises in housing, community care and social welfare law. Her practice includes homelessness appeals and judicial review, defending possession proceedings, all aspects of security of tenure, co-ownership, Children Act 1989, National Assistance Act 1948, judicial reviews and hearings before social security tribunals and Commissioners. Publications Bethan is a regular contributor to Legal Action, and assistant editor of Community Care Law Reports. Societies Bethan is a member of the Housing Law Practitioners' Association, the Administrative Bar Association, and a founding member of the Social Security Law Practitioners' Association. She is also a member of Liberty and the Child Poverty Action Group. She has worked in Kosovo and Macedonia documenting human rights violations, and visited Montenegro to speak to lawyers on behalf of the Bar Human Rights Committee. She has spoken at meetings of practitioners' associations and conducted training sessions in her areas of practice (e.g. for the Housing Law Practitioners' Association, Liberty, Shelter and the Public Law Project).
